Weekly Update for April 16 Meeting

Posted by cstephens1 on Apr 15 2026 - 5:36am

Hello Scout Family!  Our PLC will meet at the church at 6:45 p.m.  During the meeting, Scouts will practice flag etiquette and the skills to conduct flag ceremonies.  We have added a second week of camp for our scouts this summer at Camp Constantin June 28-July 4th.  Come join us for a week of fun by the lake, earning merit badges and making memories with your fellow scouts. Signup is available on the Troop Calendar. I will bring my laptop and scouts will have the opportunity to select merit badge classes at the time of registration.  Please also look at the calendar and sign up to help Nandita and Akira with their Eagle projects this weekend.  The deadline to sign up for the New Scout Campout is Friday, April 17th.  We need our scouts who have not earned Scout rank to attend as participants and older scouts to serve as instructors.  There will not be much for you if you do not fall into one of these two categories, so we may circle back with families and ask the scouts to not attend if there are already sufficient instructors.  Two of our amazing scouts are participating in the Coppell Vivache Spring Show this weekend.  If you'd like to support them and join the watch party from the crowd, consider joining us!  We'll be seated in house left on row J, seats 33-34 on Friday evening.  Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at https://coppell-choir-aoag.squarespace.com/tickets.

Class B Shirt and Hoodies Orders

Class B t-shirts and Hoodies orders are available until April 30th.  They can be ordered at https://form.jotform.com/260984616764167.  We hope to be able to pass them out at the Court of Honor, but definitely at the May 21st meeting before everyone scatters for summer break.

Update for April 9th meeting

Posted by cstephens1 on Apr 8 2026 - 5:39am

This Thursday, our PLC will meet at 6:45 at the church and the meeting will begin at 7 p.m.  The scouts will continue working on map and compass skills.  Adults, we'll have a parent orientation geared toward our newest families beginning after announcements.  We hope you can attend. Scouts should bring their compass.  Scouts working on their orienteering merit badge should bring their workbook.  Scouts who have not returned Troop gear (tents, stoves, tarps, etc) should bring them with you to Thursday's meeting.  We will announce changes to this weekend's campout by noon today.  Given the weather forecast, we plan to at least reduce the number of days and return by Saturday evening, but may cancel outright.  Participants registered for the campout should look for an email later this morning.  Please look for service opportunities coming up next week to help Akira and Nandita on their Eagle Projects!

Weekly Update for April 2

Posted by cstephens1 on Apr 1 2026 - 10:11pm

We will meet this week at Grapevine Springs Park in Coppell at 6:30 p.m., as our normal meeting location will be occupied for Maundy Thursday services.  Please bring your compass, as scouts will work on their map and compass skills and do meal planning.  The PLC should plan to arrive by 6:15 to go over the plan for the evening and help set up.  Scouts are welcome to wear their class b uniform, unless they would like to request a Scoutmaster Conference or Board of Review.  Parents are encouraged to stay and hang out.  Bring a lawn chair and drink for the evening!

Weekly Update for March 26

Posted by cstephens1 on Mar 24 2026 - 11:04pm

We will meet at the church this week at 6 p.m. for our planning PLC and set-up for our Open House.  We hope that everyone will ask a friend to join us for a night of Smores and games with a purpose!  There will be a summer camp promotion as well, and we'll be able to give an update on the merit badge classes that we were able to secure on merit badge registration day!  We're super-excited for this fun evening!  Please review the calendar and sign up for upcoming activities like our Eagle Project workday for Anya on Saturday and upcoming camping opportunities.
