Holiday Service Hours Opportunity - Dec 9

Posted by admin on Nov 29 2023 - 6:59am

On Saturday, December 9, Troop 848 will assist our local Salvation Army raise funds for their community assistance programs through the Bell Ringing Program.  Scouts who volunteer will serve alongside their friends and/or family members for a two hour shift.  The scout's job will be to draw attention to the kettle in a pleasing manner (by ringing the bell, singing, playing an instrument, etc), tell those who choose to give thank you, and to generally be welcoming.  They have a QR code available for those who don't carry change as well, so you may be doing some technology 101 lessons as well.  Scouts should plan to wear holiday wear (elf hats or reindeer antlers are a bonus) and dress in layers as needed for the weather that day.  We ask that at least one adult serve per shift, but they're welcome to sit back and watch the scouts do their thing.
